Season 3 of The Cavanaughs (October 6 ,2011 – December 29, 2012 ) saw the The Cavanaughs in production for their sitcom. The drama behind the scenes finally take the soap opera turn. The main stories include the truth behind the death of Shea, and Hope’s actions to win back Justin by manipulating the cast to her whim.
Episode 301 : Toast of the Town, Part 1 (Original Release Date : October 6, 2011) –

The Cavanaughs return for Season 3 filming the first episode of their sitcom. Noreen is interviewed by Dina Martinez. Hope is not happy when Maddie successfully gets a last minute rewrite. Mark feels guilty when Sarah is arrested for public intoxication. Dumas wants a bigger role in production. Camille Bennett joins the cast as the devious executive producer Hope. * * Outakes are now scene during the credits
Episode 302 : Toast of the Town, Part 2 (Original Release Date : October 13, 2011)

The Cavanaughs celebrate to completion of filming their latest episode. Justin makes an offer to Maddie and reveals more of his past about Hope. Noreen wants to bring new friend Constance onto the show. Sarah tries to hide her hurt that Scott is seeing Mark. Mark and Charley have a heart to heart talk. A new writer is added to the production. Hope makes a confession to Bryan.
Episode 303 : I Remember (Original Release Date: October 20, 2011)

The “What Happened to Shea” storyline kicks off as the gang meet at the beach on the anniversary of Shea’s death. Justin and Charley recall the last time they saw Shea. Bryan is keeping a secret from Maddie. Hope meddles in Scott’s and Mark’s relationship.

This episode has original music “Falling In Love Can Be Easy” performed by Ryan Kibby (Shea), also played in the montage.

This episode has a cameo appearance by Anthony Anderson from the east coast award winning indie soap ANACOSTIA. Anthony also appears in the end credits.

Episode 304 : Let’s Talk About You (Original Release Date: October 27, 2011)

Sarah celebrates her community service by drinking. Mark turns to Noreen on what to do about his career and Scott. Maddie and Hope draw their battle lines. Charley realizes Bryan is keeping a secret.
Episode 305 : Wrestle With The Devil (Original Release Date : November 3, 2011)

Sarah gives Scott her blessing for him to pursue Mark. Maddie is unahappy when Justin decides he’s taking Hope’s job promotion offer. Bryan relives Shea’s death. Cary delivers bad news to Noreen. When Charley is outted as lesbian by a celebrity gossip blogger, Mark falls into Hope’s clutches.

After being outted as a lesbian by a gossip blogger and being banished by her parents for being gay, Charley contemplates suicide. Hope makes sure Scott is out of the picture, though Scott is onto her ways. Dumas learns of Mark and Hope and uses it to his advantage. Noreen summons Charley’s mother. Cary and Dumas inadvertently discover who truly ‘outted’ Charley.

Also highlighted are the relationships of couple Justin (Kevin Makely) and Maddie (Cwennen Corral) and the ill fated lovers Bryan (Adrian Morales) and Shea (Ryan Kibby). We also learn who suggested turning the stage play of ‘The Cavanaughs’ into a sitcom, thus starting the entire indie soap series…

Hope (Camille Bennett) is being blackmailed by Cary (introducing new cast member Lars Slind).
